My name is "Keng" (which means “Capable” in Thai), but I wasn’t born talented.
Hello, my name is Keng, Chayanin Jeanrapattanakom. I currently work as a Senior Manager of Dealer Sales Department- B (DSB) at Tri Petch Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd.. In addition to my main role, I also collaborate with many other departments.
My main role in dealer sales is to support Isuzu dealers in maximizing their vehicle sales. This includes assisting them not only with sales strategies but also in taking care of their customers and employees — identifying areas where they may need help or improvement. Each month, I travel to meet with up to 12 dealerships in the Central region that I am responsible for. While I can’t always visit every dealer personally every month, I’m fortunate to have capable team members who regularly visit and stay connected with them. We also analyze market data on both regional and national levels to help dealers reach their monthly sales targets. Every dealership has its own unique character, shaped by its owners and location. This is my new challenge.
My main responsibility in Marketing Communication Department - B involved both product and advertising strategies with a focus on pickups – Isuzu D-MAX and PPVs – Isuzu MU-X. A big part of my job was identifying the key selling points and unique features of new vehicles or new models, and then using those insights to develop marketing campaigns that would attract customers and drive sales. I was one of those who worked behind the scenes on several new Isuzu vehicle launching events. — a truly exciting and rewarding experience.
The second part is advertising, which includes Out of Home media, Television, Radio, Catalogs, and other media. The marketing team oversees all of these. Another important part that I’ve managed was sales promotion activities and events where we engage directly with customers in the field. This allows us to understand what customers need, as their preferences can vary by region and area. By doing so, we can tailor our marketing activities to better suit the specific needs of customers in each location.
Another responsibility I had was to support and coordinate with the Digital Marketing team (DMC). For example, if my team had an event or campaign that needed online advertising, I had to quickly collaborate with the digital team to arrange media support. Likewise, if the digital team required assistance in creating content, I would help support the production of various materials to ensure that our offline and online communications were aligned. Sometimes, I even had to perform myself.
Personally, I don't like to stay in one place all the time. If I have to do the same work, sitting at a desk everyday, I'd probably get lonely. If I had to be in the office 5 days a week, I'd be very glum…lol. Marketing work requires constant updating with trends. We have to make customers interested in products and want to come to us, such as with games, activities, or celebrities. Therefore, we have to find new and fun gimmicks to make our products interesting and attract customers, which allows us to constantly update ourselves. Because before organizing activities for customers, we have to try it out first to see if it's really good. This allows us to try many things and develop ourselves in various aspects.
My name is "Keng" (which means “Capable” in Thai), but I wasn’t born talented. I believe that if we’re not naturally gifted, we must be diligent — diligent in learning, and diligent in practicing. That’s what truly matters. Working with people from different backgrounds has allowed me to meet so many truly talented individuals. And it made me ask myself: “Can I ever be as good as them?” Personally, I believe the answer is yes — but I might just need more time and more effort to get there. For me, hard work is the key. Sometimes, when we look at someone and think they’re talented, the truth is — maybe they’re just more hardworking than we are. And if we push ourselves a little harder, who’s to say we can’t be just as good?
Next, if you want to be good at something, you need to know a lot — and that starts with having the right information. For those who aren’t really into reading books, like me, there are so many great podcasts out there now! You can listen anytime, anywhere — whether you’re sitting, lying down, or just closing your eyes (just try not to fall asleep for real! 😄). It’s such an easy way to gain knowledge and stay informed — no excuses anymore!
One of the things I feel truly lucky about is having the chance to meet people from all walks of life. And here’s my little secret: “Start a conversation.”
Whenever I come across someone with expertise, I often walk over, start a friendly chat, and casually ask questions about what they know best. I try to approach them with humility, like a junior who’s eager to learn. And honestly, people tend to warm up to you that way. Whether they’re older or not, I usually just call them “Pii’” and it works! The best part about asking questions is that the answers come from real experience. When I listen to senior executives talking, the way they think, the way they ask questions, and how they offer comments. It’s impressive. I really enjoy listening to conversations like that — well, as long as it’s not confidential! 😅 But it’s not just senior people. Sometimes even chatting with junior team members teaches me something valuable. Everyone has their own strengths, and if we pay attention, we can learn, adapt, or even apply it right away.
I think "good attitude" and "sincerity towards those around you" are very important. True friends are good; having people who love us. Whenever we have problems or can't finish work on time, if we want to entrust someone with a task, they'll willingly do it for us. This is true. If we want someone to be good to us, we must be good to them first. If we are sincere with them, they'll help us with anything. It makes the work atmosphere good; it's easy to talk. Or sometimes, have you ever encountered people walking by who smile at you, even if you've never known them or worked with them? We pass each other every day, smile at each other every day, but we don't even know their names. This feeling in the workplace or atmosphere in the company is incredibly good!
