Isuzu continues the "Isuzu Gives Water...for Life" project at the 45th location, Ban Din So School, Kanchanaburi Province.

The Isuzu Group in Thailand, by Mr. Takashi Hata, President of Tri Petch Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd., Mr. Taro Kunifusa, President of Isuzu Motors Company Co., (Thailand) Ltd. and Mr. Nut Kongkasorn, Deputy Director General of the Department of Groundwater Resources, are committed to continuously developing activities beneficial for society and the community. The latest project, "Isuzu Gives Water...for Life" project for the 12th year, at the 45th location, Ban Din So School, Kanchanaburi Province, was carried out to improve the quality of life of students and teachers in the school, as well as people in the community, reinforcing the corporate philosophy or “The Isuzu Spirit”, which is “Deliver Happiness, Prosperity to Users and Contribute to Society”.

Mr. Takashi Hata, President of Tri Petch Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd., stated, “As we know, the global economic crisis has severely affected almost every sector of business. The Thai automotive market is also facing a severe contraction, which has also affected the Isuzu Group’s businesses. Despite these challenges, we remain fully committed to our social responsibility activities, including the “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project, as promised. We have also installed solar power systems in every school under the “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project, starting with the 44th school onwards, aligning with Isuzu’s core policy of carbon neutrality, as well as supporting the Thai government’s approach on using renewable energy.”

Ban Din So School is a medium-sized school located in Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province, teaching from kindergarten 2 to Mathayom 3 with more than 413 students, teachers, and staff in total. The school faces a shortage of clean drinking water. Despite Ban Din So School having a well for general use, the water for consumption must be shared with villagers from the community's well. This well has a limited quantity of water and the water purifier frequently breaks, causing the school to have to purchase additional clean drinking water. Therefore, Isuzu sent a team to the area along with officials from the Department of Groundwater Resources to survey the problem and install a clean drinking water system consisting of a full scale underground water system, a standard clean drinking water filter system with a drinking water production center. Isuzu also provided training for designated staff on how to use, clean, and maintain the water system, as well as regularly checking the water quality to ensure it meets safety standards. This guarantees that students and school personnel can continuously access clean, hygienic drinking water. More than 650 households and 1,500 people now have continuous access to clean and hygienic drinking water, providing a sustainable solution to the drinking water problem. Additionally, this year's "Isuzu Gives Water...for Life" project has added a special feature to the clean water production process: the installation of a solar power system. This aligns with Isuzu's commitment to carbon neutrality, a core policy, as well as supporting the Thai government’s approach on using renewable energy while reducing the school’s electricity expenses by more than 3,000 baht per month.

Mr. Nut Kongkasorn, Deputy Director General of the Department of Groundwater Resources, said about the project "The ‘Isuzu Gives Water..for Life’ project is a project that the Department of Groundwater Resources and Isuzu have collaborated on for over 44 times, with this being the 45th time. This reflects that this project is a good and important one. We have given an opportunity to students in remote areas who do not have clean water for consumption, which is an extremely essential part of living. For the next "Isuzu Gives Water...for Life" project, we will cooperate with Isuzu as usual, to reach remote areas. We will give water to the children until we have completed our mission.”

Mr. Likhit Khokkaew, the director of Ban Din So School, spoke about the school's water problem, "The water problem at our school is that we don't have water from an underground source. The water we use every day is from an existing pond. When the dry season arrives, the water in the pond dries up. Furthermore, the water in the pond is not just for the school, but the community also has to use water from this source. The 'Isuzu Gives Water...for Life' project came to our aid by drilling a groundwater well and building a clean water station, which has greatly helped to reduce the past water shortage problem and has helped to gradually improve the quality of life for the children and the community. Finally, I would like to thank the Isuzu Group for giving us this wonderful opportunity."

The “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project is a long-term project that the Isuzu Group is committed to carrying out until no school in Thailand faces clean drinking water problems anymore, in order to give back to society with the goal of alleviating the suffering from the clean drinking water shortage, emphasizing the concept “Isuzu Trusted Buddy”, reaffirming the brand value to stand alongside customers and Thai society and to be a trusted brand that Thai customers can always trust in every step. We aim to bring happiness to Thai people and create awareness of the brand value to the Thai economy and society, which has grown continuously and is ready to stand sustainably alongside Thailand in the future.
